The kitchen may be the heart of the home but a luxury spa bathroom is the perfect place to relax at the end of the day. By renovating your bathroom you can transform a functional space into the oasis you really need.
5 Spa Bathroom Ideas for Your Next Renovation
Whether you’re planning a whole home renovation or just want to upgrade to a luxurious spa bathroom these design ideas are perfect inspiration for your home reno.
Glass Enclosed Shower
Combining tile and glass is an easy way to get that high end, luxury feeling in your bathroom. There’s something about it that looks so glamourous – and you’d be surprised at how easily it can fit into most budgets. You could remodel an existing shower or bath/shower combo, or build an entirely new shower.
If you’re building then consider adding some extras like double shower heads, a seat, or even a built in shelf.
Spa Soaker Tub
There are so many tub styles out there so work with your contractor to find one that fits your lifestyle and space. Adding a large soaker tub, or even better one with jets, will almost instantly transform any bathroom into a spa like retreat. Tubs can be freestanding or built in like the one pictured above. We carried the tile above the vanity for a backsplash to create a uniform look.
A Floating Vanity
Floating vanities are great if you’re going for a modern bathroom design. They still offer plenty of storage and hide plumbing but make the room feel more open and airy. The space under the vanity allows more room for light to bounce around which gives the illusion of a bigger room. Floating bathroom vanities are also easier to keep clean!
Most of our clients request double sinks when we’re designing a luxury spa bathroom with them because they’re more practical for couples. Having two sinks and mirrors in the master bath makers morning and evening routines much less congested when you’re sharing space. By including storage underneath each sink area the couple can keep their personal items organized separately too.
If you have a main level bathroom or a second story one with large windows you’ll want to pick up some kind of window coverings for your bathroom. We recommend going with custom blinds in the bathroom for a few reasons. First of all, they’re fitted perfectly to the window so you get the full privacy you need in a bathroom.
Second, choosing a translucent blind like in the above photo is a great way to bring in natural light without sacrificing privacy. It’s a better option than frosted glass, though – blinds can still be opened during those times where you want to bring in the full light and don’t need privacy.
